Day 14 Queenstown & Wanaka

DAY 14..
ay 14 1st Jouney up the mountian via a gondola ride to overlook Queenstown and the lakes. The millers then raced eachother down the mountian on street car luge carts. A short trip up the windy mountian pass to lake Wanaka to visit "puzzle World". This was a crazy place where we got lost in the 3km long maze, disorintated in the tilted room, and lost all perception in the hall of illusions. We then eat out on the lake and hit the road to camp at what we termed "miller lake"(actually called lake Hawea) as we worked

Day 13 Milford Sound

Day 13 Milford Sound and mountain travells..
A drive through the great NZ mountians. Cascading waterfalls, raging rivers, open fields. LOTR does not do justice to this beautiful land..
The Boat Ride took us out to the Western Ocean followed by a pod of Dolfins jumping along the bow of the boat. After a full day cruze we journed back across the mountains. Then arrive up into Queenstown late at night. http://www.realjourneys.co.nz/Main/MilfordSound/

Day 11 & 12 lake Te Anau

Day 11.. Cross country trip over the divide.
Arrived at Te Anua lake. Took a boat across the lake to explore some caves and visit some unusual cave life called glow worms...

Day 12.. Had a down day just hanging out at the lake. Taking some bike rides. Eating out down town. Catching up on Laudry and internet...

Spent the day traveling the Otago Penisula.. Toured the only Castle in NZ. Went to the point. Then headed back into the Island. Camped that night in Gore off the Clinton Hwy..

Day 9 The Great Train Ride

Took a trip across the country side from Dunedin to taieri in an old fashion train. Had the whole car to ourselves. Lots of great country side views as we wound up into the mountians.

day 7- 8 Coastal trip & Dunedin

June 8th a stop to see some sea life...

visited the coast of Oamaru. http://www.penguins.co.nz/

Saw wild penguins, chased pengins and was chased by a Sea Lion. (see background).

Arived in Dunedin in time to visit the church... Have a great dinner at a cozy Italian resturant and head into the RV park

Jun 7 Joelle's 13th B-day.

Trapped in Tiannu. Snowed in. Likely the only birthday Joelle will ever experince a snow stom. Hung out in the RV and watched movies. Grocery shopping at the local mart.

Day's 6 Journey heading south

Heading toward Dunadin. Got as far as Timaru before night fall. Spent too much time on the unpopulated beaches and enjoying the scenery along the way. Large open country side filled with, Sheep, cow, and deer. Lots & lots of sheep....

Found cute little country church. Lots of old gothic churches for tourist, little country churches for actual use (i hope).

No freeways. just 2 lane non-crowded country highways :)
